It seems that every New Englander’s summer involves going to the Cape, Martha’s Vineyard, or Nantucket for some much needed R&R. They would pack up their trusty old Saab, load their sail boat, and head to the Southern tip of Massachusetts for a couple of months. This past weekend, P and I, like everyone else, headed down to Provincetown (or P-town as most call it) to go sailing with a friend’s son, Max, who volunteered at the town’s sailing club in the summer. Never having gone sailing before, I was a little nervous (I know, I know, how long have I been in Boston, and I’ve never gone sailing…?). Max had warned us that the boat was going to be a bit “tippy” due to the stronger winds. Did this mean we could potentially capsize?!…
I really had nothing to worry about because our sailing expedition turned out to be pretty amazing as we cruised along the coast of the Cape and took in the gorgeous views. Sure, we had to frequently move from one side of the boat to the other, and there were moments when I thought we might just tip over. But, because of the winds, we flew through the water, and we had a blast! I totally understand why New Englanders love to spend their entire summers in this little Southern nook of Massachusetts. Who doesn’t love sea salt in their hair, beaches for days, and sailing adventures?

Sounds good! 🙂
