For almost 10 years while living in Boston, I had been celebrating Thanksgiving in Connecticut with my East Coast family. The evening would begin with a full spread of cheese and salumi and glasses of Prosecco. The fire place is lit and snow is lightly dusting the window sills. Chatter and laughter would fill the dining room and everyone would eat their weight in delicious turkey meat, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. The dinner would end with ” Thanksgiving poker” with the loser doing the dishes. By 5 p.m., everyone is in a serious food coma and the bubbly has definitely kicked in. It was an evening that I always looked forward to every year.
This year, Thanksgiving was less traditional. P and I celebrated on the beautiful island of Oahu in Hawaii with my parents. We had a wonderful seafood dinner at Roy’s in Waikiki and watched the sun set over the ocean. Then we went back to our hotel and… passed out… because jet lag… and too much food… Some things never change… Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

No turkey for us this year, but plenty of that chatter and laughter!
