Our new Finnish friends that we met in Gorge du Verdon recommended that we stop by a little village called Moustiers Saint Marie nestled in the Gorge du Verdon on our way back to Montpellier. They said it was the most beautiful village that they had ever seen, so we checked it out! It definitely lived up to our expectations with the Gorge and waterfalls as a backdrop to the colorful French architecture. We wandered around the village, tried some locally brewed beers and lavender honey, and was constantly gazing up at the beautiful cliffs surrounding us. There are also stairs that you can climb to reach a little chapel perched on top of the cliffs with fantastic views of the river and the surrounding villages. This village is definitely a must when visiting the Gorge du Verdon area!
