Limerick, Ireland & the Cliffs of Moher

Our next stop in Ireland was Limerick, which wasn’t exactly a bucket list city, but Phil had some business there. So, Aidan and I tagged along.

We stayed at the beautiful Strand Hotel, and while Phil was working, we enjoyed the easy life, slowly wandering around the town and checking out the sites (King John’s Castle and St. Mary’s Cathedral).

The Irish people are by far the most caring and kindest people I have met. They always offered to help with Aidan wherever I went. I befriended several moms in the baby aisle of the grocery store while attempting to figure out which European formula to buy Aidan. There were so many options and these moms were so helpful (tip: get Aptamil baby formula). Phil and I were also able to enjoy dinner while the hostess carried our little one around the restaurant introducing him to fellow diners. Ireland was so baby friendly and you never felt like a burden bringing your little one with you everywhere.

Every night in Limerick was a delicious feast! We tried Freddy’s Bistro, the Cornstore and the Buttery, which were recommendations from Phil’s co-worker who visited Limerick on business about 5 times in the past year (so he tried his fair share of Limerick restaurants and he has excellent taste!). They were all amazing! We tried to avoid the traditional Irish fare, so we stayed away from Irish pubs aside from a pre-dinner Guinness.

Phil was able to get away from work a little bit earlier on our last day there and we drove to the gorgeous Cliffs of Moher. It is quite the sight to see! We loved walking along the cliffs and watching the waves crash dramatically against the cliff walls. We’d like to think that Aidan also enjoyed the cliffs and that his little 5 month old brain was stimulated by the colors and landscape. He was happy as a clam being strapped in the baby carrier.

There’s so many areas in Ireland and Northern Ireland that we want to visit so we’ll definitely have to come back!
